If you only know one thing about me, let it be this: I love brunch.
Most people are in it for the bottomless drinks but I just love breakfast food. And outdoor dining. And iced coffee in tall glasses. And pretending like I can drink the complimentary mimosas without getting sick. And then having one sip and giving the rest to Mike and re-hydrating before I actually get sick. Life, man.
This past weekend was a whirlwind with two of my best gals on the East Coast. Before going to bed on Friday night we were debating whether to go to brunch or just get bagels at our neighborhood bagel store (aka the best bagels in America not even kidding) the next morning. Ultimately we decided to have faux brunch: get bagels and iced coffee and orange juice and champagne and just do the whole thing on my coffee table. I regret nothing.
Sometimes a bacon egg and cheese just gets the job done. We saved money so we were able to play the rest of the day. I left my camera at home *face palm* but we had the perfect Saturday in Cobble Hill. We went to a gorgeous stationery store, an independent book store, a few (overpriced) boutiques, and a delicious candy shop. Normally brunch is such a long extravaganza that it takes up all our time and money. After brunch we honestly all end up going straight home immediately after. I’m glad that we opted for a coffee table kind of morning. The best part about faux brunch is the fun that follows.
