M and I have been enjoying a seriously amazing vacation in California so far. When planning this trip we knew that we wanted to do something outdoorsy. I looked up a few places and recruited my facebook friends for suggestions. It was between Muir Woods and Big Basin, but when M read an article calling Muir Woods the “Disneyland of hiking” we knew we were in. I think that statement was meant in an insulting way, but for novice hikers we knew we didn’t want anything crazy challenging. AND we love Disney! :)
We enjoyed our time exploring, and ended up doing a moderate hike. We hiked the Canopy Trail to the Lost Trail to the Fern Creek Trail, then back to the park. I knew we were a little out of our element when I was the only one stopping to take photos! Everyone else was wearing serious hiking shoes and walking at a very fast pace, while M and I were goofing off, discussing how cool it was being in the real life Endor. It ended up being a 3 mile moderate hike, and we climbed up to an elevation of 1,000 feet. It was breathtaking. The air was so crisp and the view was so beautiful – it was completely worth every minute. If you find yourself in Marin County, it’s a must see!
I originally wanted to do a second set of engagement photos (see the first set here), but our recent move set us back to the point where more professional photos didn’t make financial sense. So instead I grabbed my old, trusty point and shoot and set the self timer. The results are below. I hope everyone is having an amazing weekend!
